Search Engine Spiders/Web Crawlers don't follow the ones that has a rel of nofollow... they default to follow the rest links... the ones that don't specify "nofollow"

Nofollow are for not crawling a link by search engine. Dofollow allow search engine to crawl links. Nofollow tag we can use if we are using a link for reference not for crawl. Both are good for human traffic.

Rel=nofollow means certain pages are kept blocked from crawling search engines and do follow means pages are crawled by search engines

Less outgoing links are good for serp's ...

so links which are Outgoing from our sites can be kept uncrawled by giving this rel=nofollow tag so as the search engines do not crawl those links on ur site.

I think this forum is an example of nofollow when you see the code it has a rel=nofollow in signature part.

Anyways you get a lot of benefits when you are building link in dofollow specially those social bookmarks that do follow.

SEs respect tags like nofollow or dofollow.

Nofollow will give you traffics but one SEs will follow your links.

But if you will use or get dofollow links then SEs will count it as backlink for your site and you can get some positive value for your site ranking.

Thanks :)

If your website link is on a nofollow page then it means that your link will not be counted in eyes of google.

Though, it will give you some amount of traffic but it will not be considered a backlink in terms of google.

Both are like a order for crawler.

NoFollow means we place order for crawler that dont follow this links.

Do follow means we place order for crawler that follow this links its important for me or our sites. :D

This is technical term and not any relation with the visibility of the site in result pages. That constant use for robots to allow or not to read or crawl the page or data as a link.

No Follow - doesn't give any sense. Search engine grabbing such url as regular text. Not effective.
Do Follow - is normal valuable URL. Effective.
