If I have a site that is essentially done with layout, and has some content (it is a store with about 230 current products) Should I wait until all the final touches are done with the layout AND more products are online, or just finish up the layout and send in a submission, the reason I ask is because I have somewhere in excess of 1000 items more to add, and I don't want to submit it now with "less" content and not make it. Thanks!

DMOZ editors are supposed to look for a few things. One is that they look to see if the site has alot of content and would be useful in the category. Another thing they look for is their uniqueness. It is possible that if your site doesn't have much content, but the fact that it is so unique and hardly any sites can be found on your topic, they would list you. However if there are tons of useful sites like yours and you have no content really compared to the others, you probably will not get listed.

So what I would do is compare your site to all your "competitors" and if you think your site is right up there with them and can really be useful for some, then you are ready to submit. If you cannot say that you are up to par with many sites on the same topic, then I wouldn't submit yet and keep hacking at it to make your site better and more ready.

Some of it just depends on who the category editor is too. I am sure some editors would list you way easier than others. Some might be really picky at what sites they accept, and other editors might list almost everything. Just depends.

Hi,

I hope this is still in line with the forum topic, I was wondering if anyone knew how best to handle dmoz submissions when a website is in a number of languages. Is it then acceptable to submit the site in each of the four languages? Or submit once and say that you'd like to include it as other languages as well? The content is essentially the same...
