Someone is linking to me via there PHP footer.

Does that count towards PR?

(Only reason I am asking is because I know that Javascript links do not count) ...

Thank you.

Actually I moved it to the general Search Engine Talk. As much as we all love Google, page rank applies to all search engines (in many cases, anyway), and I thought this would do better here.

from what i understand it does, however, it's far more effective using a
text link rather than an image. This is pretty standard across the board
in terms of quality for all linking practices.

It should count, especially if the php footer is generating plain html. If you view the source of the page and see your link as a plain "a href='yoursite.com'" then it should be fine.

Another way to check, is if the site has a PR4 and links to you, to see if that site appears in your own site's list of backlinks :)

It will do for ozzu.com becuase it has a short clean url to all the posts.

Think people reading this should link back to ozzu.com and that way it will boost everyones PR again :)

As long as the links are standard text or image links then yes.

It's when they go to a script or something you miss the PR.
