I run a jobs forum for freelance designers and programmers DesignCrowd and have made the decision to place a rotating banner at the top and bottom of my main page. I have to date 113 members (in just two weeks) and its climbing pretty fast.

The question I ask is what is a reasonable or average price to charge, say for a rotating banner for a fixed period of one month.

Also do you think it is far more productive to exchange button links than to charge for a button link

Thanks in advance

I think the rates depends on the amt of traffic the sites are getting. higher traff sites ask for more $

prolly use leads/referers instead of fixed rates/months?

not sure about the rates per lead. you will have to decide it yrself/.

You also may want to look at competitors of yours. If they offer the same type of banner advertising, I would call them for prices and possibly base your price on theirs.

this is what I always do when trying to price advertising - contact a site that is like your own and pretend to be interested in their advertising - best way to find out what the competition is doing.
