I know frames are unpopular but am not completely sure why! I heard that they make you invisible to search engines. Is this true? and does that include Google?
I've used frames on my site:

It's not that they make you invisible, just that Google doesn't index frame pages as they contain no content.

Google will still index your content pages, however Google will link DIRECTLY to them, it WILL NOT load them in the frame - thereby negating your whole need for frames on your site in the first place.

Frames are just a bad idea.
