I have not been a fan of the big G and I do not like their dictatorship all over Internet but now they have really the occasion to make a good move.

I can reconsider my personal opinion on the big G policy if they will close to Chinese government request also if this mean close the business in China.

Money is not all, profit is not all, business is not all… human rights are far more important and this is the way thing can really change.

I posted some video on this issue on my blog (can't post link here) :)

Dictatorship all over Internet? Do you not like that they produce products that are free, high-quality, and chosen over their competitors?

gonna have to agree with spork on this one, I don't consider them to be "The Man." They are big all over the world because they base their business off of good beliefs by offering good, stable, free, quality services. They see flaws in the way others do something, and then recreate it into something better. They push the bounds for the internet and produce imaginative ways to increase the users positive experience. Dictatorship was the wrong word here.

Sure I like that... but is just the surface... nothing is free my friend... and now too much is at stake......

Yahoo is going worst every day and Bing is just nuts the big G have ALL ... if they decide something they decide ALL over.

Beside I do not like their company policy their useless and undefined TOS, they penalize websites or close accounts when they want and decide whit whatsoever excuse without any kind of warning or appeal.... all of this without controll from final users and making billions!
This is dictatorship to me, a fear competition must be guarantee in a delicate services like information and internet, my 2 cents.

So because some company runs their business so well that the majority, like and use their services that makes them a dictator? Sounds more like Enterprise to me. You speak as if you support a more socialistic approach where everyone should be on a level playing ground. I'm sorry I don't buy that. Given your complaints in your last post should we assume you've had your websites penalized and your accounts closed?

Internet today is not like a normal business this is the whole point... is not like selling mustard... is something far more important to me... as it is water privatization (quite an issue now in Italy).

Information, Healthcare, Schools, Water, Energy, Raw materials, Food supply.... all of those are too vital issues to be just business and in some companys hands... rememebr the Commpany goal is not make something usefull to all but to make profit and share with shareholders... legit of course but not with vital issues.
Beside that all normal business are Ok in a free market with fair, and codivised roules. This is my 2 cents.
Regarding the second point I have no idea as perform well in Yahoo and not with Google, beside my old adsense was closed without any reason given, not a big deal.

That is exactly my philosophy of good business, albeit without something useful to all, there isn't going to be much profit for the shareholders. Hence I perceive Google as an incredibly good business.

Granted I think the other issues you mentioned are important but they fall into other venues and have little to nothing to do with what Google does.

Business is business sure...

I have also to admit they do provide free good services!

I love G.maps it is so nice and so usefull, but you will agree that put filters on the net to stop chinese fellows to search about Tibet and Dalai lama is so poor... busines can not be over human rights.
