Is it true that Guestbook Links will improve your link popularity?

Web marketers think that by signing guestbooks and adding links by the hundreds they will improve their link popularity scores at search engines. It is more similar to FFA(Free For All) page where links can be obtained by anyone. Many sites who get links from questbook have no any quality contents then how you can considered these links as valuable links to your site. Such type of links are useless or a best tool for blackhat seo.

Indeed, guestbook links have no value and can not help to increase link popularity of your site..........these are like FFF and using this type if links never help you but can harm you a lot.
