how do i check my link popularity amd what does it mean?

i have noticed when checking my link popularity that i get different results what i mean is that when i type
http://www.ctyres.co.uk
i get different result to
http://ctyres.co.uk

is this suppose to be different ?
also does will this being different affect my page rank.?
lastly what is the proper way to submit you site to a direcory or website is it http://www.ctyres.co.uk
or ctyres.co.uk
or does it not make differece ?

Yes they are considered seperate IP's by Search Engines.

It will affect your PageRank GreenBar if you have links coming to both types of links. Attempt to keep your URLs consistent to one form or another. There is no draw back when choosing one or the other.

thanks for pointing that out if that is the case why is that is that for some websites wether you put in
http://www.ctyres.co.uk
or just http://ctyres.co.uk
the links shown for google stay the same and for others this is not the case .
