hi i submitted my site to loads of different directories but i havent been accepted yet whats the problem? i submitted my site about a week ago.

That depends on the directory (editors).
Approval can range from a day to several months.

It could also be that your site was rejected. Make sure that you chose the right category for your site.

I like to submit to the newer directories as they are lauched. I find the success rate is higher. For some of the larger directories, it helps if you buy a featured link.

Check out http://www.strongestlinks.com. They are not new, so they are more reliable. I am submitted a ton of clients to 75% of them and have yet to be disapproved.

Some directories add your listing automatically.
Other directories requires editors to review your listing before making it live.

DMOZ is a classic example of a directory that can take a few weeks to years to list your site

free directories generally takes few weeks to 3 months to review your submission.
