how do I check that google is going thru my pages ? and
that search engine (ie.google) has alraedy indexed my pages?

My thinking is - if I can google search my site url out in google, that means that my site's been indexed. Is that right ?

allinurl:the-name-of-your-domain.ext

Check the 1 to 10 of about x pages - x will be the number of pages google can find in your site.

when did it crawl them? If recently then maybe it hasn't added them yet? I'm no expert so I don't know for sure

an alternative is to pick one of those 200 pages and copy a distinctive piece of prose from it. paste that into the google search box in quotes. If it is indexed then the page will come up.

Yeah, Google usually likes to see pages several times from what I've seen before it will include them.

This is to help ensure that it doesn't pick up "unique" URLs (like those with session IDs appended onto the end), or temporary content that's only there the one time.

Why don't you type in the domain name of your url in the search:

nameofsite.com

Because that will just take you right to the site, in Google anyway.

You can use site:www.domain.com domain.com

Outside of using site: http://www.domainname.com, you can also use:

"www domainname com" site:www.domainname.com

You can also use Google's advanced search located at:
http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

Another thing you can do is check your server's log files to see if any of Google's spiders have visited your site. They have several of them.

So how long did it take for your site to get listed? Im waiting patiently for mine which has been online for 1 week. lol

Once my site gets accepted to dmoz should it then get into google? I have also got a lot of sites linking to me so will google follow that link to my site then index it?

Sorry if i have crossed post's :D

It sounds like you are doing everything your suppose to. 1 week is still pretty soon, though I have read some people getting indexed pretty quick. Just keep being patient, it will come.

It might take Google 1-1.5months to initially crawl your site, and usually every 1 month after to re-crawl. Of course this depends on the popularity of your site. Some sites get crawled every day. :)
