This is just for my curiosity.

Let's say there is a new web site coming up.
They did everything by the book, in terms of SEO.
Hundreds of good information in keyword rich text and all the good stuffs...

They were not uploaded yet.
And they finally uploaded 100's of new pages in one day.

Question.
Will it come out like a rocket on the search engine and grab the top ranking?
Or
Will it gradually pick up the ranking? if so, how long will it take to place itself on a steady position.

What's your assumption?

It would take a while for it to grab a top ranking. It usually takes quite a while for a website to be crawled. Furthermore, it could take a spider months to crawl one hundred webpages.

It would take time to progress with Google as it would have no links pointing at it.

It would take time to progress with Yahoo as they are not very quick too add new sites into their index (other than maybe the index page). Also the lack of links won't help.

Msn - Same as Yahoo.
