1. The "Sales page" vs. 2. the "Landing page:"
A "Sales page" cannot be confused with a "Landing page." The purpose of a "Sales page" is to SELL. The "Sales page" converts visitors into buyers. By creating emotional tension, we persuade people to buy. It sounds simple, but in reality, it takes a lot of time and practice to learn how to write a good and informative blog or article, and more so when it's a website viewers will be visiting for information. People in general, however, don't want to be sold anything. They just want to believe that they are making a buying decision.
A "Landing page" on the other hand is, in reality, also called a "Squeeze page," because there is only one course of action the visitor can take on that page - and that is to join our list.
3. The "Squeeze page" vs. 4. the "Opt-in page:"
A "Squeeze page" is in fact, sometimes called an "Opt-in page."
However, it is nothing more than a simple webpage with an opt-in form on it so that visitors can give us their name and email address in exchange for a free report, E-book or audio, or something that relates to our niche, or topic.
This opt-in form has to be connected to our autoresponder, which will get the reader to subscribe to our newsletter or ezine. By doing this they are giving us permission to email them, and we start forming a relationship with them. We can have a set of emails ready to go out or at least a welcome email. If they ever want to unsubscribe, we must make it easy for them by providing a link for that purpose at the bottom of every email. Just one important point to consider though, is that, there can't be any outbound links to other pages in our website, or other options of advertising or selling.
