I just discovered this - very cool

KartOO is a metasearch engine with visual display interfaces. When you click on OK, KartOO launches the query to a set of search engines, gathers the results, compiles them and represents them in a series of interactive maps through a proprietary algorithm

Yeah - very interesting! I'll check it out the next time I really want to find something, and compare that with just using google. I think google is easier when you look for specific phrases, but in terms of general keywords for products/shops kartoo might have the edge.

musik, I've had a little look at your site and it looks good. The work and effort put into it is over whelming. It must have taken you some time to produce something like that.

Anyway it's probably not something that I would really use!

I think I prefer it when search results listings are linear. It becomes too overwhelming when things are organized graphically, and you can't read page descriptions that easily! I think the human mind shouldn't be underestimated in terms of how quickly it can filter irrelevant information :)

Yeah! I agree with pompei,

I prefer something like Google where you can see the sites title and then have the chose of reading their sites description or not!

This thread is starting to sound like a bunch of old unix geeks saying that point and click is silly; nothing like good 'ole text commands. :)
