Hi all,

When we exchange link with the other websites, the best way to link is using keywords in anchor Text? thats all?

Eg.
Link my website using...
<a href="website url" title="Keywords description">Anchor Txt (Keywords)</a>

Thats all only right? are there any more tips?

Best Regards,
Swee

The title tag doesn't really benefit you, but having it their doesn't hurt I guess.

The main thing to ensure is that your anchor text is correct yes :)

Let say my Homepage focuses on "Online Fabric stores" as the keyworsd and for a LINK Exhcnage, most importnantly, the anchox Text is the major part? Why is it so? just because the anchox text is sandwiched between the Anchor tag(a href..)?

Your anchor text helps with your rankings.

Having lots of links pointing at your site helps with your rankings as google (and other engines) see it as more links = a more popular website.

The engines read the anchor text on the links pointing towards your site to determine what your site is about. So it makes sense to have the same anchor text as your targeted keywords for the serps as you will then appear higher for that phrase......

I have submitted my website to many free directories, I wish to ask that:

1. They insist to display company name, rather than the keyword you are targeting., If i force the keyword there, It might not approve my link.

2. the category in which i submit may have low PR, while the main site might be having higher PR, does that differ (for ex. mydirectory.com (index page) has PR8, but the category (website design) into which i wish to submit might not have that much PR, lets say it has PR3, does it still benefilt me..

please help

Any links pointing at your site are (other than from link farms, etc) going to benefit you. Sub categories for directories never have the same PR as the main page due the the dutsribution of PR throughout the directory.

Also yes they make you use the real name of your site - thats generally the way directories work.

Linking to a low Pr site won't exactly help you in any way, but it won't harm you in any way either. Is that what you mean't?

Linking to unrelated sites doesn't harm you. But maybe think from a user point of view, how is that link to a completely unrelated site going to look to them?

Only sorts of sites I would advise against linking to in most cases are casino, pharmacy and adult (unless they are your specific targeted groups)
