Don' use any local search engines and small search engines. I have bad experience with it.

Just Build more backlinks.

If you are submitting your site only regional search engines then u dont get more backlinks to your site.
If your dont get more and more backlinks then your site can nor get high ranking on internet.

The best way to increase your chances of ranking well in the Search Engines is to get exposure to deep links within your site. There are some good new sites appearing to get these links for your site, try searching for terms such as deep links, deep links directory in the major search engines.

You need to target UK sites, if you want to rank well in it.

You must submit your site in UK Directories, UK Social Bookmarking sites,UK Classifieds.

Targeting them will help in rank increase in your site

If you want your site on the top of searches, you must add your site on all sites rather then UK sites.
