...before my site starts to rank higher (hopefully! :P )

i'm pretty confident that i've done as much 'on-page' optimization as i can do with the site.....so i'll just sit here twiddling my thumbs waiting for google and all the rest of them (most notably DMOZ) :P

now the real work begins.......getting inbound links :( (shudders at the thought of many sleepless nights )

i'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end though......i hope so anyway....

btw....apologies about the nature of this thread....guess it isn't really a question.....but rather a statement (in the hope of getting some feedback  )

That might not be the best idea, depending of the type of site you've got: there's a bonus given by the se to the often refreshed sites..
Good luck for dmoz  ,

Make sure you submit to the free directories, such as business directoryand smaller business directory.

I must agree with purple, the site has a very compelling navigation system. Just for the easy access to everything from any page, people would be tempted to check out the services. Good job.

Yes, it's not fun work (in fact I'd rather be digging a ditch in 100-degree heat than gathering inbound links), but besides submitting to the general directories, you can also do a Google search for your main keywords, come up with an email template asking for a link trade and start submitting. Ugh! Just the thought of this makes me want to get out the shovel.
