Hello everybody!

I wanted to present you a new meta search engine which will, maybe, interest you.

Its name is Meceoo :
http://www.meceoo.com/

Meceoo metasearch engine searches into AltaVista, AllTheWeb and Inktomi. The search engines used are different depending on the request made by the user (number of words, requested langage, etc…).

Its originality comes from the avaibility for users to create their own "exclusion list" in order to exclude from the result pages specific web sites estimated less relevant. Search results might be therefore entirely different from one visitor to another, according to everyone’s wishes.

Meceoo also allows its users to define preselected list of sites in order to launch a search only in their contents. It is, in this way, possible to generate requests on a given "batch" of web sites, for example inside a community of interest.

For the info, Meceoo means "Mais c'est où ?" (in french: "But where is it?").

Hope you will like it!

Oooh, I like the suggested other searches at the top once you perform a search, that's neat :)

Hi,

First of all, good luck with the project.

I tried it on a few searches, though I'm not sure the quality of results was all that good for single keywords, but have yet to try it out on multiple keywords. I was wondering, why have you excluded Google's search results?

Thank ypou for your post.
Google is not in our results because Google doesn't like a lot metasearch engines ...

Bonjour Monsieur Andrieu,
Meceoo is great, a very forward thinking project. Just one question: are you thinking of investing in an english domain name? Something like "www.whereasyt.com" (only pun I could think of at the moment  )
Anyway good luck and long life to Meceoo

Meceoo, Beta 4.0 (With Or Without Filters?), is a great search engine. I, for one, like the fact that they give to you, all of your previous searches. And the original little mouse mascot was really quite cute, he he *laughs like a girl*
... Oh, that was before the site was modified, pardon me.
I've used Meceoo more than Google or Metacrawler, let's just put it that way. It's truly genius the way it excludes all of the dreaded non-sequitors out of search results.
Well, all I have to say is, wonderful. Meceoo will have people coming back for more. I'm certainly reccomending it.

But Meceoo has the unfair advantage! It has sweet filters! This is my ideology of the perfect search engine; a useful search engine where your answers aren't just rolled into one big ball of what it might be, and non sequitors. It's so simple, you can type in a keyword in the exclusion box, and you will not find that answer in your results. Say I put myself in the life of a mother of a nine-year-old. If he/she has a research project for school, and she doesn't want her child to view any suggestive or innapropriate images, she could type in "porn" or whatever in the exclusion box. I even use this, and sure enough, no filth! But I also take advantage of Meceoo's other genius narrow-your-search mehtods.
Or when years pass, and it comes to the time that I'm looking for a recommendation for work, and I want to look up a doctor's name. I find it! Google has so many results, and I just have no idea what to pick! Looking through hundreds out thousands of search results wastes a pre med's precious time. I just wanted to take some time out to compliment my new "study buddy" Meceoo.
:) KERRY FOR PRESIDENT!!! :)

where can you see what SE a link comes from?

Olivier, you say google does not like meta-search
engines? Why is that and how come the
other engines like meta-search engines?

Where can I see a list of engines you search?

What technology you use in background?
