Hi, I am looking for the best and easiest way to make my phpbb forum more search engine friendly or more open. I have seen mods out there that can do this, and I was hoping for any particular suggestions.

I realize that this can open my forum up to bots as well, and I guess this is ok.
I would like to know if there is someone that can describe to me these bots.
From what I know there are search engine bots known as crawlers and spiders. My question concerning this though is that I get new members that do not post all the time and only leave a link in their profile. I am okay with this because I believe in sharing and promoting. The ones I really do not like though are the porn ones. Are these bots?
The reason I ask is because these same bots will also sign up at my affiliates sites at almost the same time.

Thank you very much.
