Hi all! I'm new to this forum and have a quick question.

I have a new site up and it's a sub-domain of another site my boyfriend and I have. What format should I use when submitting my url to search engines or signing up for link exchanges?

http://www.freelanceassets.com (my index page)

OR

http://www.esteemweb.com/freelance (the folder my whole site is in)

OR

http://www.esteemweb.com/freelance/index.htm (whole web address to the index page)

I've tried to use a few online tools to check my meta tags etc and some of them seem to have trouble finding me or they say I dont have any tags, which I do. Any advice on which format I should generally use would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Most directories only allow you submit top level domains, so it would be best to stick to the one URL and make that the url you submit everywhere.

Your site also appears to be in a frame, Which can make it impossiblle for engines to find it, When they view the source (which all bost do) it will look as though you have no content and no links. So they probably wont list it.

Thank you for replying to my post.

I'm not sure what you mean by "in a frame". I'm new at web design and built that site with a little help. I used Dreamweaver and did not use Frame Sets. I created a template that is used on all my pages, not sure if that's what you mean.

That aside, I'm still wondering if one format or another of the web address will be more effective at getting me listed in the search engines and should be used for banner exchanges so all links go to the right places.

As I said before, when I use the straight address to my index page http://www.freelanceassets.com, they seem to have trouble finding me and/or say I have no meta tags etc...
