Hi everybody. I'm new here, and I'm a rookie in search engine promotion thing. Actually, I'm seeking to promote my translation biz site so other people can find me and use my services. I just wonder whether this is really feasible without paid adsense or other similar things. Anyway, keywords seem to be no good for my ranking on any bot backed engines.

Now wondering if I have a right strategy in promoting business. Is it better to invest in a translator's directory to list my name and CV, or use my site to find direct clients?

Oh, let me not go astray from this topic. Just is it possible for me really to use search engines for my services?

TIA for your help! :)

I'm not a expert but in my oppinion you should get listed in available directories because that's a place where potential clients may be, and making a effort for getting listed in search engine results is also something you should pursue.

Thanks reaper. :) I will follow your advice. There are paying membership sites for translators. I believe I need to invest a little on that.

I thing that you should work at both ways at once. Being listed in a directory is good, but you'll definitely get clients if you have your website optimized well.

Of course you should start with getting listed in directories. Keep in mind that the directory you're talking about is not the only where your site could be listed.
