SEO Cloaking Example

Post August 17th, 2009, 6:20 am

Hello Friend

Do you have cloaking examples - acceptable cloaking or un-acceptable cloaking. Acceptable examples are most welcome.

(Info for those who do not know what is cloaking!
If you see the website first page by directly visiting it and when you see the same page in google cache then you will find the difference! To see google cache enter "Site:carrentals.com" in google search box. click on cache "Cached".)

This I do not know.
As I read clocking is little risky but can be useful when you do not want to cheat search bot. Content must be same for both.

Perfectly right ,whenever u search about seo cloaking on the Internet ,there will be a warning sentence "Cloaking is a typical seo cheating ,once the search engines identified it, the site will be got severely punishment".

If any or your page cloaks then pull it out from indexing using "noindex" type of tag.

Cloaking is not acceptable. Cloaking is known as "stealth", it serving a specific page to each search engine spider and a different one to human visitors. Ex- Doorway page

but you see carrentals .com has a good ranking! why?
if cloaking is not acceptable.
I want to know what one should do to avoid blacklisting from search engine?
So, I have started this topic.

See in case carrentals .com is using the cloaking, he is serving the same content human would get when he enter something related to station name. like "au" then he will get suggestion for Austin etc.

I think you're confusing "cloaking" with "localization", satya.

There are plenty of acceptable circumstances when it's ok to serve different versions of pages to different people, such as having it be dependent on the "Accept-Language" HTTP header or GEOIP location information derived from the IP address. These are not called "cloaking" though.

"cloaking" is when the factor that decides whether you send one version of a page or the other, is whether it's a search engine that made the request for the page.

"cloaking" is never acceptable as far as search engines are concerned. You will be penalized if you're caught.
Why yes, yes I am.

hmm!
Thanks for a reply.
you have added a new dimension to it.
It looks really easy to confuse with localization.

but in my example, I set the user agent as GoogleBot then I got select list but when you visit as simple user then you will get ajax supported suggest box. So, it should not be called localization!
