Ideally I want Pisces.com, but that is already taken.

Would say, "aPisces.com" work, or would it confuse the search engines? Does it matter if I seperate it with a "-" (ie, a-pisces.com) or do the spiders just look for a consecutive occurance of the search string, inbedded in word or not?

Which is better, a-pisces.com or apisces.com?

Thanks for the help Search Engine gurus, I know this is probably like basics of basics, but thats what I am, basic of basics. =)

Problem with hypens is that your customers tend to forget the "-" part of the domain name and type it in taking them to your competitors site.

The use of keywords in a domain name has only a very small effect on Google. IMO you select another name that is free.

If your looking to learn about domain names try reading a few of my sites domain articles.

few points:

- 'a' is a bad prefix to a domain.

- advantage of hypens is that your site is listed better in search engines for the keywords

- sadly pretty much all 1 word .com domains are taken. you might want to consider new TLDs, or get a premium domain from the guys at namecheap.com or especially dnforum.com (if you want to invest a bit more than the regular registrar)

You no longer need to use hyphens as the major search engines now find the keywords within your domain...www.ePisces.com vs http://www.e-Pisces.com.

As much as I hate keyword rich domains (very bad for branding), they do help in the engines.

Try searching for Pisces.net, .tv, .biz, etc....

If that doesn't work, I think that vetofunk's e-Pesces idea is pretty good...
