Eliza is an artificial intelligence robot which attempts to respond with an ummm...intelligent remark whenever it's name is mentioned in an IRC chatroom. It's been around for a long time, it was one of the first of it's type.

Of course, it's possible that's not the Eliza you inadvertantly thought of, it could also be someone's grandmother, heh.

Yah, alexa.

What is the equation?

1. links? quality of the links?
2. dmoz.org
3. key words?
4. number of pages?

whats the equation? any clues as to the variables that make a site relevant?

Alexa's really cool, though a little unreliable for any sites ranking under the 100000th traffic rank. Unfortunately, I find the search query response time really slow, and since it just uses Google's results, who'd want to use it instead?

There is a similar sort of site like Alexa which is http://www.trafficranking.com/mainframe.htm.

I think TrafficRanking must rank their sites differently as my sites ranking in Alexa is just over 44,000 and in TrafficRanking it is just over 115,000.

From my experience

1. Links from high PR pages with your keywords in the anchored text .

Other factors are so much less important, if you can become first
with the links, your site will be in the top ten, I'm sure.
