Several SEO questions.

Which way is best as a page title?
1. XYZCompany - Carpet cleaning chemicals, carpet cleaning equipment, carpet cleaning accessories
2. XYZCompany - Carpet cleaning chemicals, equipment and accessories
3. Multiple identical copies of the page - each with one of the phrases?

In some ways I think it would be #1, since it creates complete phrases that customers will search for, but in other ways it seems that search engines might tag the repeated "carpet cleaning" as spamming.

Also - the client I am working with has a page that is mostly script driven, and runs almost entirely from one page. Would it be good to create duplicates of that page and try to work on keword optimization for each page?

Last question - This company has an online ordering site that takes orders for its own stores as well as its 60 distributors. So this online store is "the main" page for all the distributors as well. Would it be beneficial to have each distributor register a domain and set up a very simple web page with links to the ordering site? (backlinks)

Thanks for your ideas.

maybe

Company: Carpet cleaning accessories - equipment - chemicals

or

Carpet Cleaning Services - CompanyXYZ

That first title is nice,..but most SE's wont take that many characters..make sure to include the rest in your META keywords and in your content

I agree with Midwest Merchant
I would imagine more people search for "Carpet cleaning services" than any of the other two - Compare them using WordTracker.

Also, if you have the same keyword in your title too many times you could be penalised.

The domain question is interesting - SE's can pick up keywords in your domain name aswell.
You could register each distributors domain to that one page you refer to - but I would not do SE marketing for every URL, that may be considered a spaming tactic. Use the additional URLs for offline marketing and one main URL for online marketing.

Our primary customers are the carpet cleaners themselves, so "Carpet cleaning services" doesn't help too much. That is more what a homeowner would search for.

I had another idea - Would creating subdomains help? Especially if they went into different sections of the online catalog?

Examples:
http://floods.xyz.com
http://chemicals.xyz.com
http://carpet.xyz.com
http://restoration.xyz.com

And do you know if the search engines discount the value of backlinks if a bunch of domains that point to your site all have the same IP address? We have a bunch of distributors, and are considering setting them all up with simple sites, and links to ours.

Thanks,
RK

I have actually seen it help websites perform better in search engines, but I dont know if its actually "allowed"

If you could get something like http://www.carpetcleaningequipment.com it might be better than http://www.carpet.xyz.com, since "carpet" could refer to carpets, carpet cleaners, etc. The more descriptive the better quality of website visitors you will get.

Obviously that URL is a bit long, so you might not want to print that one on business cards - I would use that for search engine optimisation solely, and perhaps register another shorter domain to print on my business cards, letterheads, etc.
