Im starting to pimp my site have a few, pickies for you guys..

Ok..

I want to advertise my site sig consortium, by using the traffic approach and I want to know if you guys know of any sites that offer a Link Exchange partipation scheme, ok in other words, Is there a site where I can go and find people in the same boat as me, who want to trade links?

Also, I have my site registered with Google, I think... It appears on there if I search for sig-consortium.com, however that is all i produces, no description no meta tags nothing..

I have since upadted my meta tags and stuff to no avail, is it not auto updating, does it specify meta tags and desciption at the time of registering your site with them?

first answer

Why not serach google for your selected keywords and click on the sites that show up and ask them for link exchanges as they would have similar content based on the keyword.

Second answer

That normally happens if google has (partly) indexed your page but has not done a full index

1) go to google
2) type in "{keyword} vbulletin"
3) register and post to all the forums that are about your keyword and ask for link exchanges.

This works for me. What type of business is your site ? Maybe I have some links that I can trade with you.

For link exchanges use phrases like:

"keyword add site"
"keyword link exchange"
"keyword add url"

You can also use free services like:
linkpartners.com

There are many forums out there that allow link exchanges between members including:
http://www.searchengineforums.com/apps/ ... m::linkex/

Other ways are to take a look at your competitors and their backlinks. Also look into your dmoz category and see what sites within there you can exchange links with.

If your looking to position well for keywords, having only flash on your homepage is not going to cut it. Most flash pages will never rank high.
