Hi guys and gals... I have a question for you.

I have been getting a TON of referrels from POKER websites, sometimes 200-300 a day. When I go to the url I can't find a link to my site anywhere and the site has NOTHING to do with my site which is about music!!! This has been going on for over a month, and every day the site names change to something else. eg... texas-poker, poker blah blah

Any idea what this might be about?

Thanks,
Ron

(Hope i posted this in the right thread, I didn't see anything else that looked more appropriate!)

Check to see what image or music files are being accessed the most. There's a possibility that they are hotlinking something.

Yeah, I was getting a bunch too on one of my domains.

They're just automated referral spam scripts. Quite a few sites used to credit their highest referrers with a link back to those sites (many have learned better). Now you don't see it so much, but it still annoys the hell out of you.

About all you can do is block access to files containing offending strings (Through .htaccess), or block the IPs the hits are coming from (if you don't have an automated means to determine this, you may have to manually sift through logs).
