Well, you really don't even need to submit your site to search engines. You just need a get a good deal of links from other sites and directories (especially DMOZ). You can even add your link to your Ozzu signature.

But if you want to submit your site to engines, all you have to do is submit your homepage. The spider will follow all links on that homepage.

It is probably better to get links from other sites linking to you than submitting directly to the engine as your site will be added a lot quicker.

Check with http://www.resource-zone.com.

It can take from a few days to quite a few months.

I have never even heard of that directory. I would focus on important directories...free ones to start with.

With the Resource Zone. When you submit your site to DMOZ, make sure you have the date and category you submitted it to. Then after 6 months (yes 6 months) you can post a thread in the forum asking you the status of your submission. You need to know that date your submitted it and the category.

http://www.Phynder.com - could be worth the $10 if the page your site would be listed on has some pagerank and not many outbound links from it. I've added some sites before.

it will help in getting your Page rank high.

in short....
page rank is an indication of how "popular" your page in the eyes of google. it is on a scale of 0-10. 0 on the lowest end, and 10 on the highest end.

with good page rank, your site ranking PR will be good as well...
