Best optimization book is your BRAIN + EXPERIENCE.

Knowledge without experience is nothing. Similarly these SEO books are good, but if you do not have hands on experience with Search engine opimization, then you will lag behind others.

Better keep a close watch on related SEO forums/blogs to keep yourself update with latest happenings in SEO technology and marketing.

SEO Book and SEOmoz are two of my favourite web resources. Loads of
free tools available on both, and my standalone favourite SEO tool is without a doubt SEO Quake. Be careful not too leave it on, as it eats bandwith and the search engines get uptight as they're getting queried the whole time.
