Hey all,

Up until now, I've usually placed keywords in filenames in my url that are seperated by underscores, e.g. "domain.com/keyword_sequence.html", but I think I read somewhere that for some search engines (like Google), they treat underscores as actual characters, and that you should actually use dashes to seperate keywords in urls (e.g., "domain.com/keyword-sequence.html").

Can anyone confirm this? It would be cool if someone could...:)

Dashes, please. This certainly helps on Google, which doesn't seem to distinguish words that are merely separated by underscore characters.

I don’t think the "page bit on the url" counts towards SE ranking as there is no evidence of this at all. I know domain names do but not the page.
