Hello again!
Is it better for SEO if you update pages often?

Someone has told me that search engines may record the date of the file and will ignore pages that aren't updated often. If so, how often is likely to be often enough?

Any views on this?
Thanks

Google don't ignore pages that aren't updated often. Think about it, What are sites with 10's of thousands of pages going to do? It would be impossible to update pages regularly with good content. Google do like site that add content regularly though. By "add content" i mean add new pages. It wont help your ranking, But it will mean google may visit you more often and index new pages quicker. Like blogs, Blogs pages tend to get indexed within a day or two.

Google everytime wants something new. If you keep on updating your site, it will be beneficial for you. Your site will gain good ranking in Search engine. So the conclusion is that updation is good not a negative point
