Hi All,

I am currently using URLs in my design from my index page like:

Diving_in_Essex.html
UK_Overseas_Holidays.html
SCUBA_Diving_Philosophy.html

Can anyone see a problem with these URLS? Are they too long, will SE's find them OK?

I read in a previous post that Capitalisation may be a problem, but if I re-name and re-submit I want to ensure I have the best URLS for the job

Should I shorten the URLS?

All input appreciated

Search engines are in the business of making things easier for people to find.

If it will make finding things easier for people, Search Engines will like it.

I don't see anything wrong with thoose addresses.

I agree.

And if you want to shorten your URLs you can just delete your underscore characters. AFAIK Google still like it. In fact you should focus to increasing your link popularity to boost your ranking.

cheers danny,

I am working on that now, seems odd though as I have Google with 0 backlinks, but I do have about 8 sites linking to me?

Oh I see, Sounds like Porn to me :)

...no joebert I meant working on Link Popularity as suggested by danny i.e. building good PR Backlinks.... now i wait for the next Google Update to see if I can get them recognised still at 0 links according to Google

My links will stay the same as before :)

PMSL ScienceOfSpock,

Oh dear that link is unfortunate, here's a quick link to some of their Body Text

"Whether you're looking for a long and skinny pen, a thick pen, a fountain pen that squirts ink, or even a black pen, we have just the one for you."

Oh dear oh dear
