Seems like there are other directories gaining "power".
Seems like DMOZ is no longer in monopoly.
What other directory are out there?
I know of Zeal and JoeAnt.
What else?

DMOZ is still the big one, especially for Google. Yahoo Directory is another important one, especially for getting position in Yahoo Search. The MSN Small Business Directory is also a good directory to be listed in. For B2B sites, Business.com is a good place to be listed.

botw.org is just a dupicated content from dmoz. I dont think their have do much to improve their listing. You will earn nothing except PR

The power of directories are becoming more devalued as they gain PR. However if you want a site name indexed quickly then sometimes you have no choice.

I recommend a yearly spend on the Microsoft small business directory if you are serious.

 Its enough to get your brand name ranking:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&rl ... +web&meta=

You don’t expect to rank for "Australian web design"? you don’t even do the basics like add "Australian web design" to your HTML title. Even if you did that’s too much of a competitive phrase for Microsoft directory and on page optimisation.
