Search Engine Optimisation. It is the best way of marketing your site or company in internet. And it is very necessary to optimize ur site to get site globaly recognized.

SEO is search engine optimization. It is a method used by webmasters to promote their website in search engines, particularly Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, Alexa, and other search engines.

There are three methods used in SEO:

* White hat - clean and organized method in which meta keywords are organized, spam-free and the content doesn't contain any hidden texts.

* Grey hat - I think this is the method used by people who are wise enough to do some "illegal or unethical" methods but they do it in a nice way.

* Black hat - the opposite of white hat. Methods like spamdexing, link farm, doorway pages, keyword stuffing, cloaking, and much more

SEO

SEO are specialized techniques used to optimize your web site, to be Search engine friendly and increase your chances of placing well in searches.

Without proper optimization, the chances of placing highly in Search engine results (SERPs) for the keywords important to your business are low.

i'd rather not say that they do it in a nice way considering that these crackers after having their software analysis(may it be legal/illegal) reveals a softwares weakpoints online making it vulnerable. They can opt not to notify the owners of what they have discovered.
