I have been searching for this but have not been able to find the information which can help me...everytime I search for this most of the times I just end up landing to a site with a never ending sales letter and which claims to bring you thousands of backlinks within minutes...well I am not sure whether or not these things work.

I know that Ozzu is a community where we have some great publishers and webmasters who can really help me in this case.........if I narrow my question then I am interested in knowing a step by step procedure of building backlinks to my site.

It would be of great help to me as well as other publishers like me if you could share your valuable knowledge here.

Your response is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Nikhil

Participate in forums like ozzu is one strategy to build backlinks to a site.

Other strategy to create backlinks is to :
- Submit your site to related directories
- Participate in related forums or webmaster forums using your signature
- Create blog and post related articles
- Promote your site to online classified ads
- Submit related article to article submission site like ezinearticles.
- Submit your blog link to "social bookmarking site" or use of social media site in promoting site.

How can you be certain? OZZU uses a nofollow tag. So was the advice accurate? or were you just gullible?

1. submit your site to "Social Bookmarking site" ..but don't spam your web

2. post your article to "submit article web"

3. create blog about your article and link to main website

most SB uses no follow attribute so make sure that the one you are using doesn't use this one,.

Directory submission is another way to gain backlinks. Linkbait naturally attract backlinks

But people are using Social networking sites to add traffics cause its not a good source for back links. Even forums are using no follow attribute but user add their signature links in order to get some traffics to their sites.

yes these two are the great sources of traffic but this thread is asking on how to create or gain backlinks not on how to gain traffic,.

Anyway not all forums and SB uses no follow attribute

Hi atno, long time no see. :D

Anyways, I hear that not all SEs pay attention to the nofollow
attribute. Plus, there might be other sites that find the link
and give a backlink from their own site. I wish I had an example
of this, but I cant think of one atm.
