which directories are worth your time submitting to?

You can do the same for a directory. Look in the baseball sections of directories such as DMOZ, Zeal, and Yahoo. There should be a section for directories. I have one site I am working with that is a directory and I have submitted it to "directory categories" for their specific business plan. And if there is not, you can always suggest a category to the editor.

Not sure what context your directory is for baseball...
