I'm looking around at common things people mention for ways to market websites and they all seem like trends which look for websites to market on that aren't going to withstand the test of time.

I'm just not seeing how the social book-markers, directories, blogs, etc that spring up over night and in droves are going to be able to continue generating revenue to survive more than a couple years at best.

I've lost count of how many people pushing directories and blogs I've seen come and go in the last 5 years.

What if I'm looking for something that's going to last indefinitely. What types of options are there ?

I'm talking things that the old timers were doing that people are still doing today. :)
Strong with this one, the sudo is.
