Hey everyone.

I am completely knew to the Online Advertising world.

I am thinking of adding some ads to my site, but wonder if its worth it at all.
I wouldn't expect to make much, if any at all.

A few searches around the internet has informed me of 3 Ad Types. Cost Per Action, Cost Per Click, and Cost Per Mile.

I like the sounds of CPM as I would get paid if someone clicks the ad or not, all they have to do is see it. (CPC doesn't sound that bad at all.)

What are some good CPM Companies I could go to? Do they have specific requirements? And on average, how much do they pay?

Any help would be great, I don't know where to start.

EDIT: Also, how exactly do they work?

Hi Podoboo,

I believe that the CPM you're referring to is 'Cost Per 1000 impressions', with 'M' being the roman numeral for 1000. I know that Google AdSense offers a CPM program, which is undoubtedly the best place to start. :D

As far as whether CPM or PPC would be better for your site, and what type of revenues you could expect to earn, this would really depend on your market. I'd suggest that you give it a try and see what type of results you get - the nice thing about these types of programs is that you have nothing to lose by trying them out.
