Hi to all,

This is my first post to the forums, I only joined today. I have been reading lots of the posts and find most of it very interesting. I own a small business in Scotland and I am currently spending around £1500 a month on Google adwords. It never ceases to amaze me how they manage to overspend on my daily budget and yet on a lot of days we get no enquiries at all. On other days we get an enquiry per two clicks.

My point is this:

Who monitors GAW? Is there any way of checking the actual clicks are real?

I have been looking closely into SEO and I am aware of it's importance. However there are so many companies out there providing this service and to be honest my experience of these companies has been abismal. I employed one company to perform SEO for us and they only back linked http://www.lease2u.co.uk to over 1000 porn sites in Poland!

I have also been looking at different programs that claim to do SEO. I would really appreciate any advice that you guys can offer.

When choosing a good SEO it is important to look at their portfolio of SERP's. In other words ask them if they can show you a list of their clients and where they stand in google. Also, SEO companies that have client testimonials are very important. Some SEOs that i have delt with will actually let you personally call their clients and get a real over the phone opinion.

When I pitch my self to a client for SEO work i show them my portfolio, any testimonials i have, and then I actually explain the process that I take with each client. I think that this approach is important because it establishes trust with the client. And in internet sales, trust and reputation can go a long way!

you do need to be very careful because there are ALLOT of SEO hacks out there that will take your money and run. follow the steps i have listed above especially asking for a portfolio and you should be fine.

Many thanks for that Red. I don't think I will use an SEO again as the last one could have got us blacklisted by google.

Your daily budget is not managed day to day. Google looks at your daily budget and divides it over a month's time. This means that if you daily budget was $100.00 per day, Google would look at it as $3,000 per month. Therefore you may have some days your spending $50.00 and other days $150. This is not the fault of your seo company.

Hi Veto, you misunderstand me my friend or else I have not been very clear. I am not blaming the SEO company for the google adwords situation at all. I understand how GAW works ie it's averaged out over the 31 days per month. Funny thing is that we have never been under our monthly spend. I know we cannot force people to click through but what I am commenting on is the severe lack of trends in any given month and yet the monthly spend is constant. Does this make more sense Veto?

Thanks.

This sounds strange to me. We all know how hard is it to get clicks from Adsense. And your experience as an advertisers is telling us otherwise.

better check your bounce rate....
1.5k is alot of money to throw to adwords that only gardner
a 3 seconds visit to your site and then bouces off--resulting in no enquiries at all. better scout around for a better SEO company.

Personally I have used adwords for some times while I was building up my traffic, now I am off adwords as my sites are averaging the same or more traffic than on adwords......organic search results from search engines.

This will be much better than adwords!
