How to Advertise a Contest?

I'm wondering some idea's you guys may have for advertising a contest I am running.. I won't post any links here i don't want to spam it, but I am giving away two ipods to members who post in my chat forum's of my site.. I'm hoping this will spruce up the forum's a little..

How would I go about advertising this, anyone have any past success stories they can fill me in on to help me get word out about this? (without spending money of course - I purchased the iPod's i would rather not spend money advertising the contest if at all possible).
