I'm so angry right now.

I'm home for a week, and I forgot to bring my camera with me. Last night, we had a sizable ice storm (freezing rain, coats everything with a layer of ice, for those who have never experienced it).

Now, today, the sun is out, and the entire city looks as if it were made of crystal. I've seen so many potential shots today, and yet, no camera :(

I know. And to add insult to injury, I just had to scrape a half an inch of ice from my car.

Spring is welcome ANY TIME NOW.

Oh, i can't tell you how many times that has happened. I'll be out in my car driving somewhere and i'll see something i just wish i could photograph.

The worst time was when i was on a bus from Sydney to a city called Mildura in Victoria, Australia. The bus journey was about 15 hours long and i wasn't getting much sleep, although there was a time i could close my eyes and i opened them about 20 minutes later to some of the most stunning views ever. The sun was just rising and we were in the middle of what i am describing as desert, you saw nothing but the odd tree here and there and...well, nothing.

I've been to Australia, New Zealand and all around my home country of Scotland and to this day that was perhaps the most stunning view i've ever seen.

Yeah, so I've heard

As long as I-90 stays clear for my drive back on Sunday, I don't really care what the weather's like. The plows usually do a good job of keeping it open and salted.

I guess I've learned something though: I'm taking my little point-n-shoot with me whenever I do any significant traveling from now on.

I keep my little ixus in my handbag at all times...... then the only trick is managing to extract it from therein before the magnificent photo op ceases.... (your glass city would have stayed put of course, but most shots I want to catch are of living creatures, and they're notorious for changing their pose at the very second when you're trying to snap a brilliant photo........... )

Haha, yeah I hear ya.

I just finished brushing two and a half feet of snow off my car with a push broom, and it's still coming down.

I certainly hope the thruway is cleared by tomorrow afternoon :o

I only wished it would snow here. It's certainly cold enough.
