Some folks launched this one right across the road from our garden this past weekend. Grabbed a few interesting shots but really liked these. The lens flare is actually natural and not photoshopped.

I actually like this one too. Trying to decide if I want to remove the electric wires or leave them in. What do you think?

why not remove them in photoshop on a duplicate (image > duplicate)

I'm sure it would only take a couple minutes, 5 tops to remove the wires. Then you can switch between the original and the duplicate and see which you like most. If you do take out te wires, post it up - I wouldn't mind seeing it. :)

OK here's without lines for comparison. I'm thinking I like it better.

Looks much better without the utility lines, the lines ruined the shot IMO. :)

Thats a great variation. And that really shows the colors of the balloon. Seen it in broad daylight before looking just like that.

Now that I've spent time away from it, I probably could have spent more time on the clouds, I just kinda stuck them in there to hide the smog.

I like the second one ATNO/TW. I don't know why but I felt sad when I saw the second one. I know a picture is good if I feel something. Well, it only works for me.

No you're not. I liked it too, but with the lines gone it does look better. Both were good.

Tempted to move this to digital art forum now that you are all playing about with it on photoshop

I know you were just playing around but it does bring up a good point. These days it's hard to differentiate between the two. A lot of the time when I set up a shot, I account for my capabilities post-shot rather than just relying on the camera alone. Example - sunrise/sunsets are some of my favorite scenes to capture. Cameras tend to preserve a lot more color when shot darker (as opposed to blowing out the frame), so I'll shoot low intentionally and use PS to bring out the vibrant colors. A good photog these days has to be good with post-editing as well.
I'd love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.
