I agree I am looking at the EX-Z70 and the EX-S770. Both are 7.4mp and have a nice IS system which I think is needed in cameras that are that small.

i think from time to time , there is a new camera come out in the market and beat the previous so called "best camera" , why not make a vote, let's say "the best camera of the year 2006" and limited to the camera shipped from factory in year 2006. i think in this way we have better understanding and comments.

thanks

I think the best camera of the year 2006 is Canon EOS 30D. Very good quality - SLR, good price (much lower than 5D), very good ergonomy, many good lens (to buy).

Important features in my opinion:
- spot metering
- very good AF
- large and light optical viewfinder (much better than 300D/400D)
- large buffer
- fast startup
- large LCD

It will be my next digital camera I think (now I have 300D).

for USD 250.00 you might be able to get a decent on in Wal*Mart for that kind of thing. There's Canon with 10-11 megapixels that cost around USD $250

My personal opinion is that for a person looking for a low priced digi with a great picture, and a lot of zoom, the Fuji Finepix family is the best route. I just bought a FinePix s5100 the other day.

Hello everyone! I'm just new here but wanted to join in your discussion. I'm a portrait artist and most of the artwork I create are based on photos. That's why a photograph is very important to me and my colleagues.

Here are some notes about the different camera you've mentioned:

KODAK-- It's a good one because anywhere they have online resource, tips and offers for their customers. The latest one was the camera casing which can help you change the look of your camera and hide the cracks or flaws in its body.

SONY -- I doubt about this camera. I've seen a news last time where all Sony cameras were brought back to the manufacturers due to some production faults.

FUJI -- This is what I have right now. Sleek and user-friendly.

One important consideration in choosing a camera is to make sure that they have features and tools which can help you achieve the photos you want.

I own a 20D and I love it. As far as point and shoots go I have been looking at Casio's Exilims. They have models up to 10mp. I agree with Riptcage on Kodak though I am not too impressed with their digitals. Even the new compact with both a regular and wideangle lens.

HEY i have the 20D myslef, and the lens had a melting issue, the sensor rather, did you have the same issue? i sent it in to get it fixed, free but had to pay for shipping, i thought sony's had this sensor issue, ? :(
