Bifocals!
lol look at the odd black facial hair growing through, especially on his left cheek!
I like the picture, but it's a shame his lenses are (semi) tinted. Feelings are all in the eyes!

Whenever I intend to capture the character of a person, I fully expect them to look and act exactly how they are without any posing or pretense. This is precisely how this man looks EVERY day. Therefore, my photo is EXACTLY what you see of him.

Maybe I came off wrong - I don't like poses either, as I'm more a believer in the telling a story/photojournalism side of things; all I meant was that it's a shame his glasses were tinted and you lost some expression in the eyes

Actually, i'd disagree on the glasses comment. It's nice to see the eyes but i think the tint adds another good shade of grey. Most people who wear glasses in portrait shots tend to have just clear glasses and not any with a shade, so it's nice to see this.

Beautiful image, I could look at portrait photos like that for hours. I'm hoping to be able to take lots of good portrait shots in Zambia this year
