It's funny how architecturally different the castles in England and Wales are to those that you'll see up here in Scotland.

Good photos.

Thanks...Most of the castles I saw were from Edward I.

I saw one castle while I was in Scotland...I made it up to Orkney for a week but I focused on Neolithic stuff.

Edit: The one in Wales varied greatly as well.

In this set you can see one of the local castles up here in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. I must have taken them about a year ago.

Very different to the one you have taken.

It's very much an old building the one i took. The castle was built in 1575 and then finished in 1636 but because it's owned by the National Trust of Scotland it has been maintained and looked after for many years. If you go inside the castle (which i was unable to with my camera) you can see the real age of the building. It looks very much similar to what you have taken.

The places I was in were from the 12th and 13th centuries I think so they were actually much older :)

Sorry you couldn't go inside. The ones I was at were most ruins and such, kind of. Not livable anymore. I still want one of my own though
