God these are great pics you guys. I just love the architecture in these churches. People just don't build buildings like that anymore.

Very cool effect, well executed! The rich, dark silhouettes are dreamy, and really give an added element of distance and scale. I love the feeling of hiding away and peering through, like going to church will relieve me of these crowded visions.

ugh i just got a little philosophical, no? :P Never mind - it's a nice steeple!

Ah yes, that is great composition. Looks like a very serene setting. Was this a one-room schoolhouse kind of church? Looks like it.

Here's mine. This is the threshold at my church.

Yeah, there are several like it in the surrounding towns -- all very rural and classically preserved. I love the colouring of the stone in yours. Good angle too, makes it much more interesting. I can't quite make out the top part of the message tho. Grace...something...house... ;)

"Peace Be To This House" ;)

It's actually kind of hard to read when you're standing right over it. The stone slabs were once the baptismal font in the church's previous location.

When my folks lived in Massachusettes, I loved how every town you drove through all had a town center with some sort of gazebo/town square thing.

#8 - St. Jacob's Stone Church (Union Church), Glenville, PA - Celebrating 250 years! The graveyard is immense, going back along the road you come in at least half a mile. Rather bleak for a church entrance, but considering it's heritage and history, I'm sure it's more comforting than looked at disapprovingly.

I really want to get inside this one. There's several very large stained glass windows around the perimeter. I'm sure they're even more beautiful from inside. It was gloomy when I stopped by, so I thought the graveyard was more appropriate to the weather.

Very dark and spooky looking in this shot. I bet a bright sunny day makes it look completely different.

I'm not crazy about my next shot, but I kept NOT deleting it. :)

I love the simple, minimalistic lines. Excellent composition for sure. It almost looks like you cut it out of a magazine and placed in on that smooth backdrop - collage style. ;)

UNFLUX has apparently suspended his campaign!

Therefore, I proclaim myself the winner.

Not really.

BUMP!

I love the #8 picture made by UNFLUX. The one with the tombstones. That one looks awesome.

Can't wait for UNFLUX to come back with a staggering picture.
