Hello there!

Beside the forum, that is really a lovely place to stay, I was wondering who is using also photography related social network to show own photo works and eventually to promote a owned website.

I'm interested in real communities not services like host photos and eventually print them out.

Beside the well know http://www.flickr.com/ that I already tried without satisfaction, I just find out the following:

http://photobucket.com/
http://www.myshutterspace.com/
http://www.picturesocial.com/
http://www.photography-network.net/
http://www.smugmug.com/

What do you think of them?
Someone used?
Experiences?

Hi there...
I checked deeply so many websites and finally my decision goes for:

(1) http://500px.com/
(2) http://www.myshutterspace.com/

There is also http://www.picturesocial.com/ but is a perfect clone, a mirror of http://www.myshutterspace.com/ they did not even move or change positions of links and contents locations. Maybe I will consider later.

I have been using MyShutterpace for uploading photos for 2 years and It has worked very well. It provides tips for improving your skills.

Just a quick note on deviantART: although it's not specifically targeted at photographers it does have an overwhelmingly large photographer base. They also have had a 'groups' feature since mid-2009 that can centre around any subject, medium, location etc. There are plenty of specific and broad photographic groups within the whole deviantART community and sum have many thousands of members.

I can't believe I forgot about the most interesting one I've seen - www.blipfoto.com

I registered to this Scotland based (but very international) photo sharing website about 6 years ago when it was pretty small, there are thousands of users now. Worth checking out.
