I've just returned from a trip to Italy. I went to Venice, which was really great. Here are some photo's.

These shots are all taken with a low-budget Kodak EasyShare Z700 (4 megapixels and 5x optical zoom).

nice clarity on the pics but I think your third was your best. The other three were nice "tourist" photos but number 3 was the only one with a focal point and showed a bit of artistry. Very good photographs though all in all

Well to be a good photographer your photo/s have to have a focal point, i.e. something that catches the viewer's eye/interest. You can clearly see your third photo did that, the others didn't.

I really like picture 1,3, and 4. They are all touristy and yes Picture 3 is by far the more impressive (i won't dispute that) but had you taken picture 1 at a slightly lower angle and cut out more of the sky it would have been my favourite by a mile. It shows exactly what Venice is all about.

I saw that photo and despite it being a touristy one it just made me want to go to Venice. It's funny, but you may have helped persuade me to look into going there this summer. To go further off topic i'd be very interested to find out how costly things were while you were there? is it cheapish? or is it just a typical touristy place?

Some things are very expensive, but if you do things the right way, you'll save a lot of money.

For example, parking your car in venice is very expensive, but if you park it in Mestre (the town nearby) and take the train for the last part (one euro :)) it will be much cheaper.

A gondola is very expensive, about 100 euro an hour. Coffee is cheap, soda's are more expensive. And well, don't buy your clothes there.

But it's a very nice city, a must see really :D

haha... no you can't get into venice by car, but there is one car park, near the (only) road to venice. That's expensive.
