Post 3+ Months Ago

Well last night I didn't feel very sleepy, so I just sat here wasting hours looking at people's photos. At about 3am I decided I was going to go out to get some sunrise shots of the Parramatta river, even though my camera doesn't perform that well in low light. I left the house at 4:30am and rode along the bike track next to the river, stopping every now and then to take a photo. The round trip was about 15km, and it was just past 7am when I stumbled in the door, into the shower, then into bed.

Here are some of the better shots:

One

Two

Three

Four

Edit: If anyone's curious, this is my camera.

#1 and #3 are the best of the four, in my opinion.

#1 is absolutely stunning... makes me REALLY want to get out of New York right now!

I don't suppose there'd be any way for me to stumble upon.... oh, I don't know..... a 1680x1050 resolution version by any chance, would there? ;)

Wow stunning.. The bridge is in concord?

I love your shots Aaron, just beautiful.

Telling ya something, a beautiful area to photograph would be down near the spit bridge (Neutral Bay) at either dusk or dawn.

I might head down there with my little canon I have at the moment and take some shots of the bay. Your welcome to join me if you like just meet me at a station somewhere.

Good shots! Especially with a P&S camera.

I really like what you were going for in #2. I thought there was a lot to see in this image and had great possibilities. Imagine if you had people in the shot(?) - the image could have told a whole story. I liked #2 most, because of this.

The others are excellent captures with the lighting. Especially #4. Although you almost lose the train because of the light at the horizon. Do you study any compostional techniques? #3 kind of left me :scratchhead: ...

Yeah, I only thought of that AFTER I took the image, and by the time I came back past it was a bit too bright ...

I haven't read any comments before looking...

I'm really impressed with all 4 of them, but evidently I'm with the majority here, 2 and 4 are superb! You should be really proud of these, they're worthy of prints and frames IMO.

Too bad I'm too lazy to take photos in the wee hrs. I suppose this serves as proper inspiration of what I could hope to accomplish should actually get my ass out of bed.

Well done! Image
