I'm considering writing a series of tutorials for doing various things with CakePHP. Would anyone here be interested in these, or should I put my time in somewhere else?

I could post the class I use for SMTP, explaining what each line does... like I did for my PHP Template 'tutorial'. Like a code, walk-through. With an generic example of how to use it.

How does that sound?

I wrote a simple tutorial on how to use a tiny ORM (Object Relational Mapper) for people with little training on PHP5 OOP.

If you are interested in reading it or linking to it send me a private message.

That's not the purpose of our tutorial section jazz. If you'd like to share it with us, just read up on our rules for formatting it for posting at OZZU and submit it. We also have a tutorial writers group that you might be interested in if you enjoy writing tutorials.

I don't know if this would qualify as a tutorial, but I wish someone would do a write up on santizing input.

I just created a simple form entry where a writer can type in his article and it automatically adds it to my database, but I'm not sure what kind of security risk there is.

The writer is a very good friend so I'm not worried about him doing anything but if someone stumbled upon it, it could be bad if I'm leaving holes where someone can cause trouble.

It would be great to get some of the basics of databases, mySQL, and php.

E.g. How to structure your database,
How to use mySQL,
How to use mySQL with php.

I have a couple books on the matter, and would gladly do these tutorials...but my understanding of PHP and mySQL are still very amateur. Anyone up for the challenge?

Not likely. I don't do much web development these days and have abandoned PHP altogether.
