Hello all,

I am totally confused about programming languages.

Where is the problem ?
well I was using an online educational program written in JAVA then I thought why they used it-conclusion was because of its cross platform and online security features.
So I thought to learn it and searched the web.
But the results were disappointing
Some say start directly with Java
Some say,to understand Java, start with "C" Language as It is the basic language that will help to understand C#,C++,PHP,JAVA.The reason was, to built a dynamic web content site with JAVA ,you need to know php and some markup language/s.
I know html, xhtml, css and some extent of php.
So what should I do ?

Need your valuable advice.
Thank you

Starting with C# is also useful for understanding Java. Basically, Java is the most indefensibly worst popular programming language these days. You will get a better sense of software design if you start with C# 3.5 and then, instead of moving on to Java, moving on to Scala or Clojure, which are more practical. Learning C is always helpful, but I don't think you need to learn it before some other particular language. In fact, if you ask me, it can hurt to do such a thing. A good language to start with might be Python.

well you can start with anything, any language,as far as you can study from basics. You can try with c, java, php anything. if you wanna learn desktop application then you should concentrate on java/c#. Start them from basics. The catch is it requires time depending on your catching ability :D

All Good luck
